Carla Newsham


     Carla is a vocal coach, piano teacher and musical/choir director.  She is also director and producer of the Meadowlark Players, a local theatre/music group for all ages.  Carla works with both children and adults in guiding them in their journey of vocal/piano awareness and music.  She studied with RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music), at MVBC (now Rocky Mountain College in Calgary), and worked with several vocal coaches within Alberta and British Columbia.  She has been teaching music for over 25 years and her music studio, Meadowlark Music Studio, is located in Didsbury, Alberta. In addition to teaching, Carla a member of the Olds and District Music Teachers Association and a former director with the Olds and District Kiwanis Music Festival. 

Her background includes directing numerous plays, production numbers and drama camps.  Her first broadway-length musical, "Seussical the Musical", produced four, sold-out performances in June, 2009 in Olds, AB.  Other musical experience includes directing school, church and community choirs as well as being a Regional Choir Director for the Alberta Passion Play in Drumheller, Alberta.
